Capital Raising
We provide strategic guidance on the acquisition and divestiture of real assets and independent advice for complex transactions in infrastructure, real estate, private equity and other strategic assets.
What We Do
We act as capital raising adviser to owners of direct investments in infrastructure, real estate, and private equity, with a focus on defence, dual-use and resilience-linked assets in the Nordic and Baltic region. We structure the investment case, position the asset against the requirements of European pension funds and insurers, and manage the process from preparation through to close. Dual-use assets offer what institutional capital values: long-dated, government-backed cash flows and eligibility for public co-financing and grants that lowers risk and enhances equity returns. We ensure these characteristics are identified, documented and priced into the transaction.
Independent Advisory for Public Financing
Europe is rebuilding its security and resilience after decades of underinvestment. NATO's commitment of 5 per cent of GDP by 2035 includes a 1.5 per cent pillar for defence-related investment beyond the armed forces, roughly an additional EUR 300 billion per annum, and the European Union has assembled a financing ecosystem of grants and loans to de-risk these projects. Worthwhile Capital Partners works at this intersection. We advise project owners on securing grants and loans from the European Union, national governments and NATO-linked programmes, supporting both capital improvements and operating expenditure for defence, dual-use and resilience projects. The landscape spans CEF Military Mobility, SAFE, EDIP, the European Defence Fund and the NATO Security Investment Programme, alongside lending from the EIB and NIB, and eligibility frequently turns on how a project is framed. We map the relevant sources, match your pipeline to the right programmes, prepare the applications and structure blended packages of grants and loans. Strategically important European ports have recently secured on the order of 60 per cent of total project capital this way, with private capital funding the remainder on substantially de-risked terms.
Our Process
Step 1
We identify the project's full financing requirement across capital and operating expenditure, define scope and timeline, and translate the project into discrete, fundable components ready for assessment.
Step 2
We match the project's financing needs against applicable EU, NATO and national grant and loan programmes, prioritising the instruments where its dual-use function carries the greatest weight.
Step 3
We develop a complete draft application, including project description, budget and cost-benefit analysis, specifically framed to meet the eligibility criteria of the selected EU, NATO and national programmes.
